Barnabas Foundation finds it important to stay in touch with its stakeholders throughout the year. The Valentine’s Day card is a simple touch point for them and I have the privilege of designing it and creating the copy.
A yummy theme and some practice in typography made for a fun passion project! I wanted to go for a cozy bakery feeling with warm, bright colors.
I created a photography Invoice for Pure Stills Photography. This elegant business wanted a simple and organized template to show professionalism and keep client information organized.
I am a member of Missouri State University’s Ad Club. We had a contest to see who could design a logo to best suite the organization and mine won! Due to the simple concept and CMYK color scheme, the logo beat out the competitors and is showcased on social media accounts and t-shirts.
I designed this lyric poster after the song “Suit and Jacket” by Judah & The Lion. Playing with negative space gave this composition depth and a dramatic feel.
This promotional gif was released before The Hibernotes A Cappella group’s 2017 Spring concert. The theme of the concert was “Exit” which sent an urgent message to run away from your anxieties and everyday stresses and come to the concert. The gif provided a fun way to bring a unique theme to life.
As the Marketing and Design intern at Barnabas Foundation, I assisted Barnabas Outfitters Company (BOCO), Barnabas Foundation’s apparel store, with branding, marketing plans, and planned content for the Instagram page.
I planned and ran the first photoshoot for BOCO and created promotional graphics and website buttons.
We sent out an email blast that created buzz for the new apparel store and featured more of my product shots.
For Black Friday, I created a marketing plan for the day of Black Friday and a separate plan for Cyber Monday.
I was thankful to get the opportunity to try new things and work within the constraints of keeping BOCO consistent with the branding of Barnabas Foundation.
I created “FREE BIRD” for the Los Angeles social justice festival, INTO ACTION. It is an expansive week long pop-up art exhibition featuring all art mediums. Although my piece was not chosen for the festival, I enjoyed making FREE BIRD inspired by Maya Angelou’s book, I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings.
As the Marketing and Design intern at Barnabas Foundation, I created multiple designs for different events including this award that is given out to a camper that exhibits exceptional qualities. Camp Barnabas is a summer camp for children and adults with special needs and/or chronic illnesses. This award was centered around fun colors and positivity, two qualities that Barnabas embodies.
I sketched and designed the 2018 t-shirt for the Missouri State University A Cappella group, Sound Bearrier. They are a newly formed group on campus and wanted their name to be represented in some way while staying within a retro theme. The cartoon illustration of a biplane breaking the sound barrier happened to be a cool way to outline the name of this A Cappella group.
In my Marketing Fundamentals class, the final project consisted of creating a product that incorporates one ingredient: epsom salt. At the end of the semester, each group presents their product, fully packaged, with a set of marketing materials aimed to advertise the product to a panel of judges. My group created the Essential College Salt-vival Pack, epsom salt infused essential oils for college students. I designed the packaging, marketing materials, and presentation pieces for my group. We were happy to find out that our group won first place overall in both classes.
While practicing different hand lettering techniques, I experimented with a primary color scheme and new textures. This quote needed to be loud and proud and that is what I tried to accomplish with this tailored sketch style.
Worthy Is She is a online community of young Christian women striving toward lives that are centered around love and filled with truth. This organization came to me wanting a logo that was versatile, timeless, and fiercely feminine.
It’s like a coupon, but instead of receiving a discount, you give a compliment!
Anyone can make, give, or receive KeepOn Cards.
Step 1: Create, Doodle, Draw
Step 2: Write a nice note
Step 3: Add #keeponcards to share your messages and see how others are spreading goodness!
This lyric poster was designed for the song “Suit and Jacket” by Judah & The Lion. Playing with negative space gave this composition depth and dramatic appeal.
The Missouri State University A Cappella group, Sound Bearrier, wanted a fan t-shirt design that was retro in style and explained the play on words that their group name represented. This cartoon illustration of a biplane breaking the sound barrier with a bear in the group’s name became the perfect amount of ‘quirky’ to express Sound Bearrier’s name.
For my intermediate design course, we chose online articles that interested us and illustrated a piece to represent the article’s content. The article I chose was about an elementary school that added ‘outdoor classroom time’ to the curriculum. My illustration parallels the growth of a student’s mind when fostered in the outdoors with school supplies that have been outside so long they start blooming themselves.
Working with the new rebrand of Barnabas Outfitters Company, Camp Barnabas’ apparel and gear shop, I created the first line of visual ads which accompanied the new logo. Providing both the graphics and photography, I wanted to capture the upbeat attitude of Camp Barnabas along with an airy, nature-driven color palette. Black Friday graphics were created later in the year for website sales and email blasts.
Missouri State University Ad Club was re-established in 2018 which prompted a rebrand. After winning the vote for the best logo, my design became the face of this newly started club. Additionally, I made social media graphics to promote the initial meetings.
For Drury University’s sorority, Zeta Tau Alpha, I conceptualized and executed the promotional materials for a memorial dance-a-thon in honor of a late sister. Caroline was a loving, energetic, and colorful person. Creating a dance in her honor included showcasing her favorite light up shoes, her idol Steve Harvey, and utilizing her favorite colors, blue and pink. This project included creating print posters, facebook banners, fundraising page banners, instagram content, a facebook frame, and a powerpoint presentation for the event itself.
There is always something to celebrate! Being able to turn a special photo into a keepsake allows for an incredibly versatile gift. Custom Portraits are great for anniversaries, graduation presents, or accent pieces for your favorite picture wall. Faceless designs are not only contemporary but allow the viewer to focus on the memory made.
While interning with the Vecino Group, I worked directly under the creative director to create executive presentations. This required collaboration with head designers and architects to receive all necessary information and instruction.
My design goals were to embrace the streamlined nature of Vecino’s properties by making it evident throughout the RFP’s layout and ensuring that the typography was presented effortlessly. Along with updating RFPs, I created graphics to help viewers better understand each project’s progression.
